'..This is the first book in the Avaasya trilogy, Equilibrium is a killer read. Arya is a teenager with an uncanny ability to unlock any lock. When he breaks into a high-profile government vault, he's hardly aware of what awaits him. With the Tamisra joining hands with humans to destroy the Equilibrium, Arya finds himself possessing the ring known as Avaasya, that holds the Equilibrium in place. The ride that he's taken unknowingly starts to get interesting. Joshi's storytelling is stellar! With plenty of twists and turns and suspense, this makes for a very enjoyable read.

The strength of this novel is that it never really gets bogged down with the technicalities of the plot. It moves from scene to scene smoothly, thanks to some fast-paced storytelling and the occasional action scene. Paras keeps it fast and believable, suitably reflecting the content. You won't find complex, multi-layered plots here; instead, a highly readable work of science-fiction.
Overall, this book is a gripping experience. You won't be able to put it down once you've picked it up. However, it's not for those who look for romance in every book that they read...'

' ..This book clearly belongs to the 'you-cannot-put-it-down-till-you-finish-it' category with action at a frenetic pace all through its narrative. An extremely bold attempt by Paras Joshi in creating a world where the forces of light and darkness are at constant loggerheads with each other, with imminent apocalypse and young Arya being unwittingly thrust in the middle of all the action. Readers will surely be reminded of the LOTR series as well as a few other fan favorites from the fantasy fiction and this only adds more to the credibility of the author...'

' ...With Equilibrium, the author Paras Joshi takes us readers into a veritable roller-coaster ride as we join young Arya in his journey to Saatvikalok as a race against time. Set in the far future (354th century to be precise), the world as we know it hangs on a delicate balance of power between forces of light and darkness which keep creation in ‘equilibrium’. And as the saying goes ‘time and tide wait for no one’ and therefore it is almost time for the forces to cancel each other out and apocalypse to begin. In such a scenario it was but natural for both these opposing forces to make strategic moves to emerge the victor in the ensuing battle. However, this time around it looks like the dark forces seem to have an upper hand.
However, standing between them and certain victory is young petty thief Arya who unwittingly becomes a pawn in the bigger game. Is he a part of the proceedings just by chance, or is there more to his involvement in the current state of affairs? This book leaves us with this important question with the last page giving a huge hint to the answer itself.
It takes a crazy amount of imagination and creativity to come up with a fantasy fiction novel that is believable, likeable and engaging at the same time. And with Equilibrium, Paras Joshi has succeeded wonderfully well on all three counts. He manages to simplify things in the narrative while retaining enough of his creative license to play around with the settings, characters and the narrative.
Relying on the time-tried and tested canvas of good versus evil and following the ‘race against time’ template, Paras give us a likeable protagonist in Arya who we all end up rooting for during the course of his quest to reach Saatvikalok. The settings are similar to the Lord of the Rings trilogy and on more than one occasion remind us of the small villages and its residents living in perennial dread of the impending great final battle.
In a nutshell, this book is a sure-shot read for all lovers of good fantasy fiction and the young adult genre of books...'

'....“Amazing read with an intriguing plot. A fast paced thriller with a futuristic reflection. Maintains a reader-author Equilibrium. Bang on start to a trilogy!”
A good look at the book and the beholder is impressed. A surreal cover with a suitable title and an intriguing blurb makes this book a definite pick-up read.
The book is set in a different dimension, a new era, a new world. Modernization and industrialization is at its peak. The world of Sealand is divided into different countries and states. All the setting makes it much more interesting.
The male protagonist, Arya, is shown as a small time robber who has the ability to open any lock and locking mechanism. Post a big-time robbery and critical escape, Arya finds himself in a new situation where he learns about the equilibrium and the legend of avaasya. From there the adventurous journey of Arya against the forces of Tamisra, under the guidance of the five gurujanas begins.
Paras has done an amazing job with his debut book. He never seems like a first-timer. His story telling skill is impressive and entertaining. With this book the author lays the base for the Avaasya series. The book is fast paced and takes you through various critical points in a jolt. The most amazing thing about this book is its racy plot and apt description. Everything is up to the mark, nothing more nothing less. Being a trilogy, some parts of the story remains veiled to maintain the suspense and energy. Be prepared for a Mega-Finale
Reading this book was a good experience. I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Finished it in one go. Never felt bored. Didn’t have the time to. The book keeps you totally engrossed. A fresh read in your favorite genre is all you need to enjoy your day.
Congratulations Paras on such a wonderful debut at such a young age. Loved your concept and story-telling skill. Looking forward to the next installment of Avaasya series. Equilibrium will leave a lasting impression...'
